Our Other meets this summer will be July 12th and 19th, August 9th, and 16th.

June 21, 2012 Track Meet Information

2012 Delta Elite USATF Youth Developmental Track & Field Series

ASU New Track and Field Facility ***

 The purposes of the Developmental Track Meets for the 2012 Summer Series are:

1. Encourage participation in Track & Field in a fun environment

2. Help develop the running community in NE Arkansas

3. Teach the fundamentals of Track & Field
4. Develop in each runner a desire to measure success on self-improvement.

The Developmental Series will focus on participation. Each meet will have a theme and participants will be awarded a point for each event in which they participate. At the end of the series, runners will receive awards based upon points received in the series. (More information about the points will be available at a later date).

For the 2012 summer series, only Standing Long Jump, and Soft-Ball throw will be contested as field events (There will not be PV, HJ, LJ, TJ, SP, DT). No Hurdles will be contested either. We will look to add more events next summer. These meets are designed for youth ages 5-18.

We will be using timing from AgeeRaceTiming.com.  This cutting edge timing program will help our meets run smoothly, and provide results within seconds!

Events are $2.00 each or $5.00 for 3 events. (Relays are free for those who participate in at least one open event.) 

This week we will be the Popsicle Meet.  At the conclusion of the meet all runners will receive a Popsicle.

***Since December the roads have been rearranged. You can only access the track off of the new bridge north of Matthews and Washington

Our track meet series has been approved! Check back in the next couple of days for complete information on the meet scheduled for June 21st.

On the Run - DE

The meet for June 7th has been CANCELLED!  We will not have approval by then. They told me today that it would take a couple of days, and Thursday is too soon to get our ducks in a row after approval.
